To the Haywood family, my heartfelt prayers and condolences are with you in the loss of your loved one and my classmate Alfred. I pray that the Lord gives you a peace that surpasses all understanding. May He strengthen you as He heal your hearts and your hurts. I pray He continues to wrap His loving arms around you to comfort and keep you. Mr. Alfred Haywood “ was a man of great stature, friendly , respected a true roll model for those who worked beside him .
My wife Willette and I will always remember that cake that I made for him and his wife Debra.

Haywood (as a number of his classmates and teammates called him) and I attended Matthew Gilbert Highschool and Bethune Cookman College together. While in college we often hitch-hiked rides home on weekends with fellow classmates who had transportation, because our funds were normally limited. He was a good friend with a good heart. Following college our careers took us in different directions (finally Georgia for Hayward and Texas for me). Today I am sadden to learn of his home going. Rest in peace bro.
