Billie was born May 18, 1925 in Normangee the son of Leonard and Pearl (Brisbane) Tharp. He was a longtime resident of Bryan. Billie served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was station at Pearl Harbor. He married Bernice Lobello and together they owned and operated Tharp’s Printing Company in Bryan for over 20 years. Billie was a member of Christ’s Way Baptist Church.
Billie is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice L. Tharp.
He is survived by his son, Dr. Billie L. Tharp, Jr. and his wife Frances of Houston; daughters, Debbie O’Neill and her husband Rick of College Station, Susan Boykin and her husband Bruce of Tomball; nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
