

After a courageous two year fight, Vickie Hennings lost her battle with cancer on Wednesday June 24th 2015. She showed amazing strength and inspired many others with her determination and positive attitude during this difficult struggle. Vickie Sue Hennings was born in Cedar Falls Iowa on March 30th 1976. She was the daughter of Donald Hennings and Barbara Dietz Hennings. She was baptized on April 25th 1976 and confirmed on May 28th 1989.
Vickie graduated from Frisco High School in Frisco, Texas in 1994, and went on to attend Texas A&M University where she graduated in 1998. Vickie began teaching at Snook ISD and devoted the next 17 years of her life to the students, the school, and the community of Snook Texas. During this time she also continued her education receiving a Masters Degree from Texas A&M University. She cared deeply about her students and supported them in both their educational and athletic endeavors. She spent much of her free time attending the sporting events and other extracurricular activities of her students. Vickie loved to travel. She went on a cruise almost every year during both her spring and summer breaks. She visited several countries and took the opportunity to do some amazing things, such as attend the Olympics in Greece, and see the Holy Land where she was re-baptized in the Jordan River.
She is survived by her parents, Don and Barb; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Brian and Dara Hennings and Brent and Debbie Hennings; five nieces and nephews Ellen, Dean, Claire, Nicholas, and Andrew Hennings, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Robert and Verona Hennings and Charles and Sadie Dietz; her uncle Rodney Hennings and her aunt Pat Hennings. Vickie was a wonderful person, great teacher, and caring friend; she will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 29, 2015 at A&M United Methodist Church in College Station with Reverend John Reasons officiating. Interment will follow at the Snook Cemetery in Snook, Texas.
