

Alex is best remembered by his family for his welcoming smile, kind heart and love of soccer. He also knew where to get the best Peking duck and introduced the family to traditional Chinese dishes and delicacies often. He is survived by his wife Nellwyn Wong of Bedford; his daughter Tiffany Wong; step-children Layla Adams, Micah Adams and wife Charla, and Jody Adams; adopted daughter Janis Parthun; granddaughters Madeline and Liv Adams; brother Charles Wong and wife Flora; nephews and nieces Jerik Wong, Adrian Wong, Curtis Yip, and Amber Yip.
Born in Hong Kong, China on May 17, 1957 to the late Yun Tao Wong and Mo Sheung Miu, Alex was motivated early on to achieve success. He moved to the United States in 1977 and received his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Berkley and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State. He served as a Senior Program Manager since 1995 in the Traffic Operations Division of the Street Services Department for the City of Dallas. He was instrumental to the success of many city transportation and traffic operations projects and nominated for awards by his peers. In addition, Alex actively participated in many civic organizations such as the North Texas Chinese Engineers and Architects Association and the Association of Asian City Employees. He enjoyed playing indoor and outdoor soccer as well as taking walks with his wife Nellywn and dog Preston. He was a collaborator, mentor, role model and friend to many in the community, on the soccer field and at home.
Services will start with a visitation at 2:00pm followed by a memorial at 3:00pm on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville, Texas.
