A devoted follower of Christ, she was a member for 19 years of the Cross Creek Church in Colleyville, TX. She was married to James Jones in 1956 and had 4 children, all boys within 5 years of each other. After a divorce in 1993, Anita met an old high school friend, her current husband Jay Hale, at their 35th high school reunion, fell in love, and married soon thereafter.
Anita leaves behind a large, multi-generational family: Her husband of 36 years, Jay Hale; sons Greg Jones of Coatesville, IN; Doug Jones and wife Suzy of North Richland Hills, TX and David Jones of Troy, MO; a brother, Robert Havercroft and wife Candice of Grant's Pass, OR; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, as well as multiple generations of nieces and nephews. Known as Grandma Anita to her grandchildren, she then became affectionately known as “GG” to her many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband James and her youngest son, Jeff.
Always ready for a conversation about virtually any topic and tenacious about whatever she did, Anita was very proud of her many years of work as a Medical Records Administrator at various hospitals in Texas and Arkansas; but without a doubt, her true passion was painting. Over the years, she created hundreds of paintings that were sold at art shows, commissioned for individuals, given as gifts to friends and family, or to simply adorn the walls of her home.
A strong voice to others to take responsibility for their lives and to be bold and determined to achieve whatever goal they might choose, Anita encouraged the family to be all they could be and not give up. Her stubborn determination to keep moving onward will be very much missed by those she leaves behind.
