Geneva Ann Lee Tompkins, known to friends and family as Ann, was born on August 23, 1937, at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She departed this life suddenly and peacefully on May 29, 2025, surrounded by the love and memories she created throughout her rich and meaningful life.
Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin M Tompkins, Jr., and her parents, Ernest F. Lee and Geneva Pearl Thomas Lee. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her sisters: Mary Ruth Lee and Sarah Jane Lee Card, and daughters: Laura Tompkins and husband Andreas Gottstein, Karen Tompkins White and husband Keith, and Susan Tompkins. Her memory lives on in her cherished grandchildren: Rebecca Gottstein Folmar (husband Joshua and two great-grandchildren), Michael Gottstein, Dawson Brighton, Carolyn White Krekula (husband Austin), Dylan White, Michael White, Christopher Lindenmuth (wife Katie and two great-grandchildren), and Alexander Lindenmuth.
Ann graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1955 and attended Baylor University, where she developed a lifelong passion for her Baylor Bears. She and Mel raised their three daughters in Little Rock, Arkansas, before relocating to Red River, New Mexico. There, Ann became a beloved figure in the community as the owner of Patrick’s of Red River, a clothing store that she proudly operated for thirty years.
In 2009, Ann retired to North Richland Hills, Texas, to be closer to her family. She will be remembered for her lifelong love of Christ, warmth, dedication to her loved ones, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
