Mrs. Barbara J. Royston

Barbara was a proud graduate of Diamond Hill High School, in Fort Worth Texas. She was married to Richard Ray Royston, who preceded her in death in 2014. Together, they built a life centered on family and faith. She is survived by her two children, Rick Royston and Melissa Mercer. Rick Royston and his wife, Penni Royston, live in Parker, Colorado. They have three daughters: Andrea, Melanie, and Jennifer Royston. Melissa and her husband, Tim Mercer, reside in Haslet, Texas. They have two sons: Joshua Mercer, married to Jay Foster, and Nick Mercer, married to Corrie Mercer. Barbara was blessed with three great grandchildren. Cadence Parsley, Bennett Royston and Zoey Mercer. And nephew Randy Young and his wife Ann of Sugarland, Texas.

Barbara was a devoted member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church and later First Baptist Church Grapevine, where she found community and fellowship. An avid decorator, she took great joy in adorning her home with greenery and decorative wreaths, celebrating every season and holiday with unique flair. Hosting holiday and birthday gatherings for her family brought her great happiness.

Visitation for family and friends to gather to honor her memory, and celebrate Barbara’s life will be held on January 31, 2025, at 2 pm, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas, followed by a graveside service at 3 pm.
