On May 27, 2025 Barbara found peace in God’s embrace. Barbara Benson was born on October 9, 1933 in Reagan, Tennessee.
In grade school, she met her future husband, James, when he helped her onto the school bus. After he returned from the war, they married in April of 1950. Together they raised two sons and enjoyed a 73-year marriage.
Barbara was dedicated to her work at the Euless Public Library where she retired after 30 years of service. She was also active at her church, Emmanuel Presbyterian, where she was a charter member, and she was a very devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Holman and Betty Little, and her husband, James Thompson.
She is survived by her son Harold and wife Elena, son Rick and wife Karen, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held June 2nd from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville. A Memorial Service will be held June 3rd at 1:00 pm at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 2701 Harwood Road, Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made to the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
