

Bradley Thomas Cross was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Bradley will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Thomas and Mary Cross.
Bradley was raised with one sister, Ellen and one brother, William. Bradley was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings shared many life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Bradley had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Yankton High School in South Dakota in 1975.
He continued his education at Texas Christian University where he graduated in 1979. Brad received his Master’s degree in Education from Baker University in Baldwin City, KS in 1998.
Empathic and loyal, Bradley was committed to making his new family happy.
Bradley worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Bradley was blessed with two sons, Brent and Jeffery and one daughter, Erin. Another blessing for Bradley was the gift of three grandchildren, Braeden, Nolan, and Easton.
Fortunately, Bradley enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Bradley worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. He began his career in education in 1980 at Christian Life High School in Rockford, IL. He also taught at several schools in Nebraska and Kansas before making his way to Texas in 2005. His most recent position was with Newman Smith High School in Carrollton, TX, where he had been teaching since 2011.
Bradley enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Brad’s hobbies included cooking, grilling, reading military or espionage thrillers, and watching sports. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Bradley found pleasure in sports. Although Brad was a teacher of various subjects in the sciences, his greatest passion was coaching high school football. His coaching career spanned baseball, basketball, football, softball, and track and field. Bradley was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so.
Bradley passed away on August 13, 2016 in Flower Mound, Texas. Brad is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Cross of Yankton, SD; Wife of 34 years, Kimberly A. Cross of Flower Mound; children, Brent T. Cross (wife, Kirbe) of Grand Prairie, Jeffrey M. Cross of Minneapolis, MN, and Erin E. Cross of Flower Mound; grandchildren, Braeden H. Cross, Nolan J. Cross and Easton C. Cross, all of Grand Prairie; siblings, Ellen Rashone of Valentine, NE, and William M. Cross of Rapid City, SD. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas. Bradley was laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
Bradley was an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Bradley leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Bradley Thomas Cross.
