Carol was born in Rochester, PA on December 23, 1940, graduated from Ambridge High School in 1958, and earned a Masters degree in Education from Penn State University. She was married to Walter Devereaux on September 8, 1962.
Carol worked for many years as an elementary school teacher at St. Vincent’s in Euless TX, before converting to a career in real estate. She spent time working at several different real estate branches as an agent and ended her career at Best Texas Realty in Keller TX.
She had a passion for playing bridge and played with her bridge club for several decades.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mabel Coss of Baden, PA, and is survived by her husband, Walter, two grown children, Wally and Jeff, and four grandchildren, Abby, Emmy, Connor and Chloe.
Carol was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother “Nana”, and will be greatly missed. May the good Lord rest her soul.
Visitation will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 12:00 to 12:30pm. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12:30pm, with entombment at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
