Christine was born to parents, Walter M. Shepherd and Gertrude V. Thetford Shepherd, on December 23, 1929. She was one of seven children. Christine was all about her family, helping others, being kind, and more than anything, about being a good grandmother to her grandchildren. She was always hard-working, seldom complained, and was always supportive to those around her, even taking everyone else’s children under her own wing. She was dedicated, kind, and generous in her time to serve and help others. Christine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and will be dearly missed.
Christine is preceded in death by her late husband, Elijah John “EJ” Mowdy; her parents, Walter and Gertrude Mowdy, and her 7 siblings, Henry Shepherd, Dolly Shepherd Young, Pauline Shepherd, Frida Shepherd Burkhart, Patsy Ann Shepherd and Lois Shepherd Shannon.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joe A. Mowdy, Janis Kay Mowdy, and Glen Mowdy; grandchildren, Melissa Deann Bass, Teagan Jordan Mowdy, Tyler Gates Mowdy; great-grandson, Caleb Todd Overbo and numerous other relatives and friends.
