

Curtis Piper of Colleyville, TX passed away peacefully at home on February 20, 2018 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on June 28, 1952 in Warner Robbins, GA to Leroy Piper and Dorothy Smith Piper. The family moved back to their home in Austin, TX when Curtis was 6 months of age.
Curtis served in the United States Navy and then attended Stephen F. Austin University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration. During his career, he obtained certifications as a Senior Claims Law Associate. He was employed as a Vice President of Claims and large loss claims analyst. Curtis was a member of Abiding Grace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed coaching youth sports, baseball, golf, travel and driving his Corvette.
Curtis is survived by his wife Heidi of Colleyville, TX; daughter Kelcey and boyfriend Dan Drapp of Dallas, TX; son Brad and wife Mandee of Dallas, TX, father Leroy of Austin, TX; sister Patty and brother-in-law Bill Wilson of Colorado Springs, CO; and nephew Travis Wilson and wife Tori of Brighton, Co. He was preceded in death by his mother.
The visitation will be held from 5-7 o’clock p.m. on February 23, 2018 at Bluebonnet Hills funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held at 3 o’clock on February 24, 2018 at Abiding Grace Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at www.pancan.org or Abiding Grace Lutheran Church.
