

Darren Glenn Baucom, or as many knew him, "Dr. Boc," "Doc," or just "D," passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, at home, following a 14-month battle with a glioblastoma brain tumor. He was 54. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, in Compass Christian Church, 2600 Hall-Johnson Road, Colleyville. An open mic will be offered for those that would like to say a few words or share a story. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a brain tumor charity of your choice or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Darren was born to Mack and Hilda Baucom on March 1, 1961, in Albuquerque, N.M. Darren was very active and involved in many sports. He had a huge passion for golf and spent a lot of time on the course. He also loved to hunt. He was most proud of his hunt in Africa and his last hunt in Alaska. Darren regularly played softball and was on the same team, Bronco's, for almost 27 years. Darren was dearly loved and will be dearly missed by many. His sense of humor was like no other! He loved his family and friends so much, especially, "my baby," as he called his first granddaughter. Darren was preceded in death by his father, Albert Mack Baucom; daughter, Lauren Baucom; and son, Ryan Crowe. Survivors: Mother, Hilda Baucom; wife, Susan Baucom; children, Tyler Baucom and wife, Leslie, Brooke Baucom; granddaughter, Campbell Baucom; sisters, Diedre Baucom, Donna Baucom, Debbie Auston; many nieces and nephews; so many friends; and his beloved pets.
