David was born in Torrington, CT on March 17, 1957, the son of the late Frank Stolfi (the beloved and
famous bar owner of The Place) and Patricia (Carter) Stolfi. He was a proud Torrington H.S. Raider and a
1980 graduate of UConn with a Bachelor of Science in the School of Business administration. Go
Huskies!
David is survived by his mother Patricia Stolfi of Torrington, CT; his two children, Michael Stolfi and
Rachel Jajcanin (Dario) of Grapevine, TX; his long-time sweetheart and fiancée Susan Sullivan of
Colleyville, TX and her son Daniel Sullivan of Dallas, TX; his sister Tami Soja (Tommy) of Torrington, CT; his uncle Dick Carter of Torrington, CT; his aunt Prudence Woodard (Jim) of Torrington, CT; his three adored bad dogs, Bindi, Bodhi, and Teddy; and his treasured 1957 Black Cadillac Coupe de Ville.
David was a successful insurance executive before starting his own consulting firm later in his career. In
his spare time, David was an avid hot rod enthusiast (with a need for speed) and an active member of
the Ferrari Club of N.A. (Dallas Chapter) and The Pontiac Club. He was an experienced deep-sea
fisherman, a proud and tender animal lover, and an active sports bettor (What’s the line?). David greatly
appreciated a good meal, loved exploring new restaurants and he always picked up the check. David was
forever an instigator and a fun-loving jokester. He was the witty and boisterous life of the party, who
always made people smile, just by being his jovial quirky self. A better friend you couldn’t find, his love
and friendship will endure forever.
Most importantly, David was a caring son, a loving father, a devoted partner, and a loyal friend. He was a
fierce protector of his family and friends, but a teddy bear at heart. He was looking forward to the arrival
of his first grandchild, Luka, and his upcoming retirement with Susan and the kids, working in the yard,
teasing the dogs, going to car shows, and sampling BBQ joints. His true mission was to live his best life
and he achieved that goal in all of his days. In parting, David would want you to remember: Please don't
cry because I'm gone, instead be happy that I was here.
