Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodland Heights Baptist Church, 3712 Central Drive, Bedford, 76021. Private entombment preceded services in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
He was born in DuQuoin, Ill., on Jan. 10, 1930, to Jennie Hurt Threlkeld and Dennis Threlkeld. After graduating from high school he was married to his high school sweetheart until her death in 1958. Denny attended Southern Illinois University until moving to Fort Worth and later attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 and in the Army Reserve until 1959.
Denny was a member of the Baptist Church since age 12. He later taught adult and children's Sunday school. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1951 and a member of Scottish Rite and a Shriner. Denny was a member of the American Legion, past board member of Care Corps, and the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors: His wife, Jean; his son, David Threlkeld of Fort Worth; and his daughter, Dana Ganey of West Virginia.
