Donald Nelson Jones

Donald Nelson Jones, 90, of Bedford, TX passed away on Sept 18, 2021. He was born on the family farm in Alfalfa, OK on July 6, 1931. Donald graduated from Alfalfa High School. He was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1954. Although his heart was always in Oklahoma, Donald moved to Ft Worth after his discharge to better support his family and he remained there until his death.

He was married to Betty Kuykendall on November 26, 1952 until her death on April 12, 1993. He married Jo Ann Moslander on October 10, 1998.

Donald worked as a cabinetmaker throughout the 60's for W. L. Bishop. He later went to work for Bell Helicopter, where he would work off and on until he retired in 1996. During the off times he would pick up construction work as a framer. He had a passion for farming, carpentry, water skiing and snow skiing, and travelling with Jo.

At heart, he was a farmer. Often seen in overalls, Donald loved both animals and children and they loved him back! He was equally comfortable in a tuxedo and was always clean shaven, he would even shave several times a day if needed so he would stay looking sharp.

He was preceded in death by his first Wife, Betty Jones; Parents, Clifford and Pearl Jones; Sisters, Karen Monroe, Loleta King, and Treva Baker; and Jo's Grandson, Scott Ford.

Donald is survived by his second Wife, Jo Ann Jones; Sister, Gayle Harris; Children, Vicky Stricker (Gary), Cathy Gregg (Jim), and Toni Hood (Paul); Jo's Children, Jan Ford (Randy), Dana Bell (David), Donna Shoffler (Jerry); Grandchildren, Philip, Alex, Michael, Count, Logan, Joseph, Zachary, and Rachel; Jo's Grandchildren, Kailey, Ryan, Jenifer, and Andrew; Great Grandchildren & many Nieces and Nephews.
