Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Entombment: Bluebonnet Hills Mausoleum. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Don was born in Highpoint, N.C., on Jan. 18, 1930, the son of Joseph and Agnes Saunders. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a great man, husband, father, grandfather, teacher, friend, educator, philanthropist and loved by his family and many others. He will be greatly missed; his lessons of love and life will never be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Donna M. Saunders; his children, Don Jr., Kathy, Denise, Rob and Pam, Tammy and Todd, Deborah and David, Barbara and Wes, John, Brenda and Garry, Bernie, and Robert; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
