Dorothy "Dee" (Gallien) Slauter was born on October 1, 1938 in Crowley, Louisiana and passed away on May 26, 2018 in Bedford, Texas. Dee was a homemaker, but home was not always on her mind. She and Bill enjoyed traveling around the globe. They visited all 50 states, 6 of the 10 provinces in Canada, and 10 foreign lands. A trip to the snow cone stand with her grandchildren was a sure way to put a smile on Dee's face. Although Dee lived in Hurst, Texas the love of her honeymoon destination of New Orleans never wavered and she returned there as often as possible to enjoy Mardi gras, Café du Monde and her favorite Cajun foods. Growing up in Beaumont, Dee acquired a love for seafood. Correction, she liked seafood, she loved shrimp. Anytime, anywhere, anyway. The love of the Louisiana pine brought a smile to her face and a shovel to Bill's hand as they surrounded their home with 40 towering trees. If Bill had realized Dee's love for Coca-Cola was so strong when they married, an investment in Coke would have made retirement much sweeter.
