

Elmina Lenoir Williams, known as Mina to her family and friends, of Hurst, Texas, passed away at her home peacefully on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, holding the hands of her daughter and granddaughter. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all that knew and loved her. She was born on October 16, 1941, in Orlando, Florida, to Bert and Helen Maples. Mina had a calling for helping others and graduated as a diploma nurse in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1963. In the same year, Mina married the love of her life Kenneth Williams, a member of the United States Air Force. Mina continued to work as a nurse for over 40 years at hospitals in Germany, Holland, and across the United States. She had a love for traveling, the beach and shopping, but the true joys of her life were her husband, daughter, and granddaughters.
Mina is survived by her husband, Kenneth Williams of Hurst, Texas, daughter, Bridget Canaan of Hurst, Texas, granddaughter, Katelyn Canaan of Hurst, Texas, granddaughter, Hannah Canaan of Austin, Texas, sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith of Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Helen Maples, and granddaughter, Nicole Canaan. There will be a private Memorial Service held for Mrs. Williams. Flowers and/or memorial contributions to the North Texas Food Bank are equally welcome.
A reception will be held after the Memorial Service for Mrs. Elmina Williams.
