She was born on January 16, 1932, in San Nicolás, a town in the province of Havana, Cuba. Flora earned her teaching degree from The Guinness Institute and went on to dedicate her early career to educating children as a second, third, and fourth grade teacher at Luz Caballero School and at the Manuel Ascunce Basic Secondary School.
On September 4, 1955, she married the love of her life, Mario Zamora. Later in life, she worked in manufacturing at Fel-Pro, Inc. Flora’s greatest devotion was first to her beloved mother and then to her husband, with whom she shared many cherished years of marriage. She found joy in reading, cooking, and gardening—simple pleasures that reflected her gentle and nurturing spirit.
Flora is survived by her husband, Mario; her daughter, Teri and her husband, Armando; her sisters, Keyla and Marisol; and her grandchildren, Armando, Alexandra, Ian, Alec and Faith.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
