

He was born in Madisonville, Texas on May 14, 1927 to Edd Whitten and Emily Brownlee Whitten.
Eddie graduated from A&M Consolidated High School and attended Texas A&M College.
He married Billie Maxine Sivils on November 21, 1945. They were married for 45 years until Maxine’s death in 1990.
He married LaVerne Gollob in March 2003.
LaVerne passed away in May 2021.
Eddie delivered telegrams for Western Union from age 10 and became manager of various branches beginning at age 17 in College Station, Texas.
He went to work at Humble Oil and Refinery (Exxon Oil) in Baytown, Texas in the accounting office where he became certified in computer programming in 1962.
He was also a volunteer firefighter and search-and-rescue diver for the Wooster Fire Department in Baytown.
He began preaching at various congregations during this time and went to the Brown Trail School of Preaching in 1967 where he eventually served as Administrator, then Director for some years.
He preached all over the US and in several countries during his preaching career. He also served as an elder at various congregations over the year.
He built and flew small planes and loved flying. He was an avid golfer and loved playing with many of his friends locally and all over the country. And he loved to travel.
He is survived by his children, Cheri Foster and husband Bobby,Janice Boyle and husband Patrick and Patti Allen and husband Blake,9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service for the family on February 12, 2026 followed by a memorial service on February 14, 2026 at 11:00 at Brown Trail church of Christ in Bedford, Texas, located at 1801 Brown Trail, Bedford, TX 76021, United States.
