Gail Diane Wood was born on December 29, 1944 in Mount Vernon, NY to Jack and Grace Wood. The eldest of 4 children, she was raised in White Plains, NY passed away on June 28, 2017. She attended White Plains High School, followed by Howard University in Washington, DC. After college, New York City, enjoying a long and successful career there as a corporate trainer. She went to work at Transamerica leveraging her successful training experience.
She moved to Texas in where she met and married Leon Zachery, in 1980. They have one son Brandon, joined by two sons, Leon III and Brent from a previous marriage. As a devoted wife and mother, her passion was her family, always looking forward to spending time with family and friends throughout the year, including an annual road trip to the east coast with the beloved family golden retriever, Bruno. She so effortlessly balanced work and home life, including lifelong friends, many of whom she met through work, as park of her extended family.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Chapel, visitation to commence an hour prior.
