

Gay Davis was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Gay will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
She was the daughter of Roy and Curtyce Lanier.
Gay was raised with one sister Joy, and one brother Roy. Gay was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. They shared many life experiences over the years.
On December 15, 1944 Gay exchanged wedding vows with Jerald A. Davis, Sr. Empathic and loyal, Gay was committed to making her new family happy.
Gay worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Gay was blessed with one daughter Gay, and one son, Jerald. Another blessing for Gay was the gift of two grandchildren and three great grandchildren, Beverly, Elizabeth, Mitchell, Maddalyn, and Olivia.
Gay’s faith was important to her. She was a member Richland Hills Church of Christ which is now the Hills Church for 51 years. During that time, she was a secretary and put out the church bulletins.
Gay passed away on May 19, 2016 in Fort Worth, Texas at Plaze Medical Center. Gay is survived by her children, Gay Lanier Davis and Jerald A Davis Jr. and his wife, Donna; grandchildren, Beverly Davis Rodriguez and her husband, Brandon, and Elizabeth Davis Phelps; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Mitchell and Maddalyn; and her brother, Roy H Lanier Jr. Services were held at The Hills Church in North Richland Hills, Texas. Gay was laid to rest in the Garden of Fidelity in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
Simply stated, Gay was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Gay leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Gay Davis.

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Gay Davis, 89, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 19, 2016. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at The Hills Church. Interment: 2:45 p.m. Thursday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christian Relief Fund and the Community Enrichment Center. Gay was born in Fort Worth in 1926 to Roy and Curtyce Lanier. Her father was a preacher, and she moved around with her family frequently. On Dec 15, 1944, she married the love of her life, Jerald A. Davis Sr., in Abilene after he returned from World War II. Gay was the first church secretary at the Richland Hills Church of Christ, now the Hills Church. She worked in that position for 51 years much of that time as a volunteer. She supported her husband, Jerald, as he served as an elder in the church for 30 years and she worked with Bread for a Hungry World, which is now part of the Christian Relief Fund. She joins in heaven, her husband of 58 years, Jerald A Davis Sr.; her parents; and her sister, Joy Henshall. Survivors: Gay is survived by her children, Gay Lanier Davis and Jerald A Davis Jr. and his wife, Donna; grandchildren, Beverly Davis Rodriguez and her husband, Brandon, and Elizabeth Davis Phelps; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Mitchell and Maddalyn; and her brother, Roy H Lanier Jr.
