

Jim was born to James L. and Betty Jean Davis on April 11th, 1955 in Ravenna, OH. The youngest of 3 siblings, Jim was raised in Florida, graduating from Dixie Hollins High School in St. Petersburg. Jim then left to attend Anderson University in Indiana. After moving to Texas, he met and married Rita K. Smith on August 21st, 1982. Together, they had three boys, Tanner James (b. 1983), Hunter Lee (b. 1986), and Dakota Jo (b. 1987). Jim later married Kimberly S. Jones and together they had a girl, Kaylee Jean Davis (b. 2009).
Jim worked for Federal Express for 17 years as well as the Tarrant County Prison for several years until he retired in 2017.
Jim was a huge fan of his favorite baseball team, the Texas Rangers, an auto enthusiast, and avid motorcycle rider. His children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He enjoyed spending time and sharing his favorite activities with them over the years. Jim loved the Lord and served Him faithfully throughout his life, playing the trumpet and trombone in the orchestra at Christ Church Fort Worth for a number of years.
Jim is survived by his son Tanner Sanders; son Hunter Sanders, and his wife Desireé; son Dakota Davis; and daughter, Kaylee Jean Davis; grandchildren, Jackson, Olivia, Emaline, and Wilder: sister, Joann Collier; nephews Rob and Ryan Moulds; sister Janet Deutsch, and her husband Peter; niece Julia Deutsch. He has joined his parents, Jim and Betty Davis, and his grandson Finley Sanders in Heaven.
The visitation will be held from 11:30am to 12:30pm on Tuesday, August 17 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral home. A funeral service will follow at 12:30pm. A graveside service will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park with a reception to follow in the Bluebonnet Family Lounge.
