Jean was born in Norfolk, Nebraska on December 13th, 1928 to Louise and Floyd Brittain. A year later, the family moved to Waco, Texas where they permanently resided. Jean attended school in Waco and graduated from Waco High School. She began playing the violin in elementary school with the encouragement of her third grade teacher, her Aunt Fava. She continued her love of violin all the way through college and was in the Texas Women's University orchestra. She graduated from TWU in August 1949 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Jean met Hilmer Huseby through her good friend, Marian Cross, in the summer of 1948 and they later married in 1949. They moved to Houston and began their family where Jean was a homemaker and devoted mother. Over the years, Hilmer's work took them to numerous cities across Texas and the family was always active in church. Jean was a devoted wife to Hilmer and mother to Janet, Bobby, Mike and Doug. After her children were grown, she enjoyed traveling all over the world, including several trips to Israel. She and Hilmer also enjoyed numerous motorhome trips with family and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Hilmer. She is survived by her children: Janet Huseby Ethridge and husband Butch, Bobby Hilmer Huseby and wife Lisa, Michael Thomas Huseby and wife Heather, and Douglas Williard Huseby and wife Shelley.
