Jerry was born June 23rd, 1948 in Gainesville, Texas, to Paul and Leota Dean Childress. He married the love of his life, Virginia, on March 2, 1974. Proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy, loving husband, father, and grandfather, Jerry spent his last 33 years serving the youth of his community as a volunteer with MidCities PeeWee Football. The impact Coach Jerry had on the league, fellow coaches, and the kids he mentored over 3 decades is immeasurable.
