

Jerry Samuel Hiatt Jr., of Southlake, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was a beloved husband to Mary Hiatt and a father to Dustee Lee Ann Rivera (Edgar), Jessica Jane Hiatt (Donna), and Amanda Susan Shalkey, (Edward). Jerry was a grandfather to Courtney Anne, Alexandria Lee Ann, Elisa Jane, and Luis Ricardo and an uncle to Melissa Elaine and Angela Suzanne.
His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Born in Anderson, Indiana, on March 8, 1953, Jerry was the son of Carolyn Lee and Jerry Samuel Hiatt Sr. He was also the older brother of Jeffrey Wayne, (Rebecca).
Jerry proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 8 years, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty and honor.
During his time in the Marine Corps, Jerry honed his mechanical skills, particularly in engine repair. He went on to work for several helicopter businesses in Louisiana and Texas before co-founding Action Aircraft, with his wife Mary. Together, they built a successful business over the past 32 years.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home at 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX on Friday, June 13th, 2025. Visitation at 1 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2 pm. Forum will be open for expressions of memories and good times shared with Jerry. Burial will not follow on the same day, rather it will be held on Wednesday, June 18th, DFW National Cemetery at 2 pm. Those who wish to attend may meet at the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home at 12:30 pm to join the escorted procession.
