

John Knipp was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, John will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Martin and Kathleen Knipp.
John was raised with two siblings. He had one sister, Dorothy, and one brother, Jimmy. John was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
John enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but John was able to manage the balancing act. He earned his Bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Empathic and loyal, John was committed to making his new family happy.
John worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. John was blessed with one daughter, Donna and one son, Terry. Another blessing for John was the gift of three grandchildren, Leslie, Slade, and Cheyenne.
Fortunately, John enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, John worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. He was employed for over twenty-six years by Home Depot. John always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
John enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were fishing, camping, traveling, and photography. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
John passed away on March 25, 2016 in North Richland Hills, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Donna and husband Dennis Schulze and Terry and wife Amy Nolan; grandchildren, Leslie, Slade, and Cheyanne; brother, Jimmy and wife Debbie Knipp; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Services were held at Bluebonet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas. John was laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
Simply stated, John was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. John leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember John Knipp.

Service: 12:30 PM Tuesday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home with interment to follow in the cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
John was born on February 13, 1950 in Dallas, TX to Martin and Kathleen Knipp. He graduated from University of Texas Arlington with a Bachelor’s degree in architecture. He worked at Home Depot for over twenty-six years. John loved to fish, camp, travel, and also photography. He was an active supporter of the Susan G. Komen foundation Walk for a Cure. John was a hard worker and loved to spend his free time with family.
John is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Cotner.
