SAGINAW -- Johnny Rendon, 71, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016. Johnny was born in Taylor on May 21, 1944. He loved God, his family and his country. He was a patriot who proudly served over 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired with the rank of senior master sergeant. He received numerous medals and commendations for his service. Johnny also retired after 22 years of service as a program supervisor for the Texas Workforce Commission. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Opal E. Rendon; father, Alfred Rendon Jr.; mother, Helen Rendon; sister, Annie Rendon; and brother, Edward Rendon. Survivors: His wife, Eddith Jeanette Rendon; children, April and Michael and wife, Stephanie; grandsons, Christopher and Steven; stepchildren, Rhonda and husband, Larry, Jonathan and wife, Michele, and Kristi and husband, Chris; brother, Frank; sisters, Josie and husband, Manuel, Rosie, Mary and husband, Jimmy, and Clara; and four stepgranddaughters. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of choice.
