Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville, Texas. A private burial ceremony will be held the next day.
Joyce was born on December 18, 1934 in Blum, Texas. She graduated from Blum High School. Joyce married Cotton on March 5, 1955; they were married for 46 years before his passing in 2001.
Joyce was loved and admired by many. She was often called the “Energizer Bunny” as she was always on the go. Joyce loved life and lived every day to the fullest. She loved her job at Hallmark in Grapevine where she worked for the last seventeen years.
Joyce is survived by her four daughters, Jackie (Nick) Gailey, Tonya Dunahoo, Tammy (Hughie) Gregory and Marian Atkins; her stepdaughter Golda Dove; fifteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Marion Lee “Cotton” Hurst; her parents, Jessie and Myrtle Ince Ward; her brothers McConnell, Cletus, and Eugene Ward; and her sons-in-laws Danny Dunahoo and Christopher Atkins.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Joyce will be missed by all.
