

Mrs. Laura Mae Griffin, 92 years old, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016. She was a dedicated wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother, and a proud great-grandmother. Laura Mae Crowley (Griffin) was born February 14, 1924 to Cleve and Cornelia Crowley of Grapevine. Her family was one of the first families to settle in Grapevine. After she graduated from Grapevine High School in 1942, she married her husband, Kenneth E. Griffin on Sept. 25. During her 61 years of marriage, she was a dedicated wife who supported her husband while he served in the Air Force during WWII. After 11 years as a military wife, they returned to Grapevine to raise their children and she continued to support her husband who was a Dallas Police Officer for 24 years. Laura Mae devoted her life to loving and caring for her two children: Dr. Kenneth W. Griffin and Kathy Griffin Denis. Laura was involved with many school activities and would use her baking talent in exchange for vocal and piano lessons for her children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Griffin, sister-Ruby Graham, brother-in-law-Norris Graham, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Crowley. Survivors include son, Dr. Kenneth W. Griffin and wife Mary. Their children Christopher, Caroline and Kendal. Daughter, Kathy Denis and her daughter, Haley Rodgers, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
