

Laura Jordan Wassef, of Southlake, Texas, passed away on April 18, 2020. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, wife and friend to all that knew and loved her. She was born in Irving, Texas to Valerie A. Austin and Edwin B. (Burt) Jordan, Jr.
Laura graduated from Texas Women’s University and attended high school at The Selwyn School of Denton, Texas, where she met her husband, Yaser. They spent 35 years together and raised three beautiful children. She loved spending time with her children and was involved and volunteered in numerous organizations, benefits and activities in her community. Laura spent nine years battling a multitude of cancer challenges. Those who knew her would describe her as a fierce fighter (warrior). She never gave up; always pushed her medical team, and made every effort to put her children, family and friends first. Her sparkle and positive attitude prevailed through her challenges and she made time to council and advise others on cancer, CISD, sports, volunteering and parenting. She is loved by all that knew her. She will be missed.
Laura is survived by Yaser Wassef (husband), Sarah Wassef (daughter), Miriam Wassef (daughter), Zachary Wassef (son), Richard Jordan (brother) and Edwin B. (Burt) Jordan, Jr, (father); plus, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by Valerie Jordan (mother).
A private funeral service and interment will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park at 1:00PM on Tuesday, April 21. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future on a date to be determined.
