

Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Interment: Mr. Carter will be laid next to his wife in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 10 a.m. to noon, prior to the service.
Lee was born to William R. Carter and Margaret Reynolds Carter on July 14, 1927, in Hamlin. Lee's early education was received in Hamlin, where he graduated from high school in 1944. After graduation, he enrolled at Texas Tech. He attended one year.
Because he was underage, he asked his mother to sign for him so that he could join the U.S. Navy. Lee went into the Navy in June 1945 and was discharged in August 1945 because the war was over.
He worked for three years before returning to Texas Tech where he earned his marketing degree. Lee went to work for Armour and stayed with them for 37 years.
During his tenure with Armour, Lee worked in several locations: Fort Worth, McAllen, Eastland and Little Rock, Ark. It was in McAllen that he met the love of his life, Barbara, on a blind date. Lee and Barbara had three children together.
Lee was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara; and his parents.
Survivors: Lee is survived by his three children, Caren, Bill and Jay; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
