Leon started as young farmer working on the family farm in Arkansas. He served in the Air Force during the Korean war before retiring as a Routeman for Williamson & Dickies in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Leon is preceded in death by his son, Steve; his parents, Floyd and Alma; sister; Betty Ann; brothers, Billy Don and Hollis.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie of 63 years; his daughter, Sherry; sons, Benny (wife Kay) and Bryan (wife Wendy); daughter in law, Donna; brothers, Jimmy Doyne, Jerry Wayne and Larry. 11- Grandchildren, 7- great grandchildren, 4- great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Leon was a good ol’ country boy, hardworking and honest. He enjoyed camping, family vacations, and took pride in keeping an immaculate yard.
Leon's services will take place on May 31st, 2024 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd. Colleyville, TX 76034. Visitation will begin at 10 and will be followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Upon the conclusion of the service, we will lay Leon to rest in the 12 p.m. hour.
