Bruce was born on November 14, 1937 in Catoosa, Oklahoma to Ruth and Zilan Geren. He was raised in Broken Arrow and was a proud graduate of Broken Arrow High School. Bruce enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for twenty years. He was a Vietnam Veteran and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1976. He then worked for the United States Government’s General Services Administration for 29 years until his retirement in 2006.
Bruce loved to joke around often, and loved to make others laugh. His sense of humor and lively stories could always cheer up those around him. Bruce could often be found spending time with friends at the race track, “bettin’ on the ponies”. He also enjoyed traveling to Laughlin and spending time at the casinos. He was a loving father, who was active in his children’s sports activities. He spent time in coaching and mentoring his children’s teams. Later, he spent as much time as possible playing and keeping his grandchildren active. In his later years, “Bud” loved to spend time reminiscing with his sisters sharing stories and memories on the phone. Beloved father, grandfather, and friend will be dearly missed by all those blessed to have known him.
