Linda was born on April 6, 1944, in Beloit, Kan., to Jack and Francie Wetterhahn. As a young girl she grew up in rural Kansas with her mother and her extended family while her father was serving in World War II. Several years later she married and moved to Texas to start a family of her own.
Linda was a doting, supportive and loving mother to her two boys, Sam and Todd. Her sense of humor was one of the greatest traits she handed down to her sons, creating a room full of laughter when they were all together. Linda was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis when her boys were very young. Her illness did not stop her from providing her boys with a childhood full of wonderful memories. Linda accepted her diagnosis and continued living, giving, and bringing joy to those around her. Movies and music were her passions. She had hundreds of movies in her collection, favoring the classics, and always made sure to attend Elvis Presley concerts when he made his way to town. Linda was a longtime resident of Irving before moving to the piney woods of East Texas. In her final years, she was a resident of Kindred Nursing Home, near her boys and their families, in Grapevine.
Survivors: Sons, Todd Martin and his wife, Teresa, Sam Martin and his wife, Rae; and grandchildren, Lauren Martin, Allison Martin, Ryan Martin and Kyle Martin.
