Lois Starr Lane, a devoted wife, mother, and Nana, passed away on July 30, 2023, at the age of 68, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Born in Odessa, TX on August 17, 1954, Lois had a warm and nurturing spirit that touched the lives of everyone around her. She graduated from Brewer High School in 1973, beginning a journey that would see her create a beautiful and fulfilling life.
On August 25th, 2000, Lois married her loving husband, James Lane where she then became known as Lois Lane, AKA Superman’s girlfriend.
Lois embraced a career in aviation planning, spending over 15 years at PepsiCo. She was admired for her remarkable ability to "gently nudge" pilots and maintenance crews, ensuring everything ran smoothly and on time. Her dedication and professionalism made her a valued and respected member of the aviation community.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Lois had a zest for life that manifested in her love for travel. One of her most cherished memories was fishing in Belize, relishing the beauty of nature and making unforgettable experiences. She loved tending to her flower garden, where she recently had everything pulled out and redone since it wasn’t quite to her liking.
Selflessness was ingrained in Lois's nature, always putting the needs of others before her own without hesitation. Above all, she treasured her role as a wife, mother, and Nana, finding immense joy in the company of her grandchildren. She embraced every adventure they embarked upon, no matter how wild, and her grandchildren were the center of her universe.
Lois is survived by her devoted husband, James Lane, and her children, Sonnie Starr Rice and her husband Bryan of Southlake, TX, and Jason Starr and his wife Tera of Houston, TX. Additionally, she leaves behind step-son Brandon Lane of Boise, Idaho, and step-daughter Susan Lane of Albuquerque, NM. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Madison and Macie Rice of Southlake, TX, Ryder and Stone Starr of Houston, TX, Grace Lane of Portland, Oregon, and Emelia and Ella Lane of Boise, Idaho.
