Margaret was born in Hinton, West Virginia in 1925, the youngest of 13 children of Edgar and Edna (Meador) Charlton. She graduated as a Cadet Nurse from the Chesapeake & Ohio Nursing School in 1945 and served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps after World War II. Following her military service, Margaret became a homemaker, raising three children and faithfully serving her family.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents and 12 siblings. She is survived by her husband, Col. (ret.) John L. Kennedy, Jr., children John (Maria) Kennedy, Thomas Kennedy, Sarah (Todd) Onderdonk, grandchildren Kalyanii Kennedy, John, Colin and Daniel Onderdonk, and great grandson David Kennedy, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Margaret had an abiding faith in Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution in memory of Margaret to the church or charity of your choice.
