Gene Lanier, age 90, of Euless Texas, passed away peacefully at home with her children by her side, on December 16th, 2025. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 3rd, 1935, to Glenna Mae Moore Whitecotton and Isaac Marion Whitecotton.
Gene graduated from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, High School in 1953 and graduated from Arkansas Baptist Hospital School as a Registered Nurse in 1956.
Gene married her high school sweetheart, Joe Edward Lanier, and they moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1959.
Gene worked as a surgical nurse at Saint Paul Hospital for several years before she decided to stay home to rear her children. She did continue to substitute for her primary care doctor, from time to time.
Gene was a woman of Christian faith and was a member of several Baptist churches through-out her lifetime. For many years, she and Joe have been faithful members of First Baptist Church of Euless, Texas, now known as Cross Cities Church Euless.
Gene is survived by her husband, Joe Edward Lanier, her daughter, Kandis Crumpler and her husband Kevin Crumpler, her son, Lindsey, (Lindy), Lanier, and his domestic partner, Laurens Wiseman, her grandsons, Austin Aaron Stanley and his wife, Roxana Medrano Stanley, and Tyler Lanier Stanley, her great-granddaughters, Daniella Stanley and Dylan Stanley.
Gene loved being a grandmother and a great grandmother. She kept both of her grandsons from birth to 1st grade because her priority was teaching and taking care of her family. Gene and Joe attended every practice and game their grandsons played, and she was their number one fan and cheerleader.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park located at 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, Texas 76034 at 10:00a.m. on January 2nd, 2026.
