

Mary L. Taormina, 88, a resident of Grapevine, Texas, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Baylor Hospital in Grapevine. Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Nancy (Natoli) Saltalamachia. Mary was a homemaker, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. An 85 year resident of Oswego, she discovered the joys of traveling the countryside late in life. She loved telling stories, collecting coins, cooking, singing songs and sharing a bowl of oatmeal with her great-grandaughter Gina every morning. She is survived by her husband of 69 years Larry F. Taormina, of Grapevine, Texas; her daughters Mary K. Taormina of Grapevine, Texas and Patricia (Robert) Cooper of Gilroy, California. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Andrea (Collin) Antos of Colleyville, Texas, Michael Cooper of Las Vegas, Nevada and Stephanie Cooper of Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania; three great-grandchildren, Gina Antos, Tatyana Cooper and Josselyn Desbiens; and two brothers John Saltalamachia and Joe Saltalamachia, both of Oswego. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, James Saltalamachia and Bart Saltalamachia; and sisters Nancy Saltalamachia, Angie Stevens, Anna Pacific, Shirley LaFave, Lucy Woodard and Jane Wedge. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Catholic Community, 1000 Tinker Road, Colleyville, Texas. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church. Mary will be cremated following her services.
