Nancy Sue Schumacher, surrounded by her children, passed away Aug. 11, 2014 in Ft. Worth due to a stroke. Born Jan. 15, 1940, in Des Moines, she graduated from North H.S., spent more than 40 years in Oklahoma City, then moved to TX. Nancy's greatest loves were her 3 children, 2 grandchildren, and 2 dogs.
Nancy relished daily power walks, yard work, flower gardening, songbirds, OU football and Texas Rangers baseball. She enjoyed listening to Neil Diamond and Elvis and was perhaps the Young and the Restless' greatest fan. Nancy took great pride in maintaining an immaculate home and in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Nancy delighted those she met with her quick smile, laughter, and conversation. “Your mom is so cute” was often heard after friends met Nancy.
Nancy is survived by her sister, Beverly Berger and husband Marvin; daughter, Kim Schlittler and husband Bill; son, Mark Schumacher and wife, Jennifer and their children Luke and Shelby; daughter, Krista Schumacher and husband Derek Wilson; and 2 nephews. A celebration of life will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday at White's Chapel UMC Founder's Chapel, Southlake, TX. Memorials may be made to Best Friends of Pets in OKC and National Stroke Association.
