

Phil D. Armstrong departed this life on April 10, 2025. Born in Brownwood, Texas in 1946 to parents Jim and Bonnie Armstrong. His parents moved to Fort Worth when he was very young, and Phil became a lifelong resident in Tarrant County. As a child growing up, he was active in church at North Richland Hills Baptist. Upon graduating from Richland High School, he was drafted into the army during the Vietnam era where he served his country and was awarded the National Defense Service medal. Phil later worked at Vought Aircraft and then the Texas Dept. of Transportation where he retired as Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
A native Texan that loved to hunt and fish with family and friends. Over the course of 40 years, he and his wife adopted 9 of their pups and gave them their forever homes. Phil was a kindhearted man with a huge sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by wife of 45 years Ann Armstrong, sister Jan Robertson and husband Jim, daughters Melody Matto and husband Bart, Tiffany Rupert and husband Jason, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and Phil’s lifelong friend Joe McCarver.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association or to the North Texas Basset Hound Rescue.
A visitation for Phil will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 10:00 am at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd; Colleyville, Texas. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 11:00 am at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034.
