Mrs. Polly Childress Sanders, 83, of Lake Whitney, Texas passed away on December 31, 2016. She was born in Alvarado, Texas to parents, Raymond “Rags” and Reta Lavada Childress. At the age of 8 she moved to Dallas. She graduated with honors from Crozier Tech High School in 1950. She married her husband of 65 years, H R Sanders, Jr. on August 4, 1951. She worked for the Republic National Bank of Dallas for 12 years. She and H R later had four children. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents; great-grandson, Hunter Crumpton; sisters, Lois White and Melba Childress; brothers, Raymond E. Childress and Robert Childress. She is survived by her husband, H R Sanders, Jr; children, Randall L. Sanders and wife, Mary, Richard D. Sanders, Herschel R. Sanders and wife, Anne, and Russell D. "Sam" Sanders and wife, Marva; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Hensel and Virginia Chase and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
