Bob was born June 6, 1922, the eldest son on Lorenzo S. and Martha E. Foote in Decatur, Illinois. He was a man of deep faith, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a very proud American.
How do you describe 100 years? Bob enjoyed a childhood on his family’s peach farm in Illinois. Achieved his Eagle Scout as a teenager. Also during his youth, Bob received medals for racing in The Soap Box Derby with his Dad and then led his own sons to The Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio. He proudly serviced as an officer in the Army Corp of Engineers during WWII as a young man. Earned his Master’s in Nuclear Physics and spent a lifetime pursuing his passion for finding Uranium and then Oil. Bob was still working the week before finally resting.
Bob’s love of life and his faith in God gave him great joy. You could always hear him humming or whistling in his office. He was a member of Covenant Church since 1990 and spent 18 years traveling with Hunter Ministries bringing healing in Christ to the ill and disabled around the world. An avid photographer, he was never seen at a party or family gathering without his camera. He had the honor for many years of videoing the Church services of Joy Faith Ministries International.
Bob Foote was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Donald Foote and Richard Foote, his son Randall Foote and stepson Mark Watson. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betsy” Foote of 48 years, Sons Robert L. Foote and wife Jennifer; Andrew S. Foote and wife Romsey; Richard A. Foote; and daughter M. Elizabeth Foote.
