

Ruth Marie Stricklin, 81, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, in St. Michael Catholic Church, 3713 E Harwood Rd, Bedford. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials in Ruth's name to one of these wonderful charities - Homeward Bound Animal Rescue, American Heart Association or Dementia Society of America. She was born Ruth Marie Jurwick on Dec. 3, 1934, in Chicago, Il., to John J. and Pearl Rysick Jurwick. Ruth graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago and later married Laurence P. Stricklin. She was employed with Illinois Bell and American Airlines. Ruth was talented and loved to paint and work with crafts. Ruth belonged to the Mid-Cities Newcomers Club, TOPS and the Arlington Women's Golf Club. She was also a member of Homeward Bound Animal Rescue Society - taking dogs into her home until a forever home could be found. Ruth loved traveling, keeping family together and she was a faithful Dallas Cowboy Fan. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Larry of Bedford; her children, Dan Stricklin and wife, Mary Dee of Bedford, Ron Stricklin and wife, Andrea of Austin and Julie Lane and husband, David of Frisco; grandchildren, Elaine and Rebecca Stricklin of Bedford, Brielle and Ryan Stricklin of Austin and Christopher and Michael Lane of Frisco.
