CONTINUED:
You have left a legacy of love and loyalty that I will speak of to my children until the day comes I get to see you again. 
So tonight grandpa, I’m going to watch a movie with the volume up too loud while I munch on trail mix and sip on a propel. I’m going to tell my husband that I will always devote my whole heart to our love story. I’m going to hug my baby a little tighter and whisper to him that families are forever. I’ll listen to a Shania Twain song and think of you with a smile on my face. Give grandma a kiss for me and I’ll do my best to take care of dad for you. I love you forever grandpa. I’ll be seeing you.

To My Grandpa: 

At the end of someone’s life I think its a very natural thing for your mind to start to race to remember the last words that were shared, the last hugs that were given and the most meaningful moments that were passed. But by some tender mercy, your passing has not left me pondering any of my last moments with you, but instead my thoughts have been filled with the years of all of our jumbled memories. I’ve smiled to myself while thinking fondly of falling asleep on your large belly, snacking on trail mix while watching Star Wars together, looking down at you proudly after I climbed up that rock wall so excited to see you give me a thumbs up, hearing you close all our phone calls with a bold piece of advice and saying, “I love you girl”, listening to you get after grandma for not letting you eat “the good stuff”, you dancing me across the floor at a youth dance, or walking arm and arm together across what was most commonly a barbecue restaurant parking lot. 
I’ve been thinking about you so much grandpa, and the things you taught me. I love that the most memorable things you taught me were the things I learned just by watching the man that you were. I learned that your life is most meaningful when you put your family first. I learned that when you devote yourself to loving another person so fiercely, your love story can be one that changes you for the better. I learned that pumpkin seeds are good for my prostate :). I learned so much joy can come from the important work of family history. I learned that when you are dedicated enough, nothing is impossible. And I learned that when you let Christ into your life, what might feel like empty holes, can, and will be filled. 
Thank you so much grandpa for loving me, for giving me the amazing man that my father is, for a lifetime of memories with you, and for teaching me by example some of the most important life lessons. 

So sorry I did not have the opportunity to meet Sam earlier. I feel fortunate that he was my Home Teacher for several years and I was able to see the spiritual side of Sam.  Grateful for the times he came to my home as a priesthood holder.  Thank you Sam for your service.  I’m hoping your family finds comfort in having the memories of a special man.

Love my Pops dearly and will miss him big time. The strongest man I have ever known with endurance like no other after the loss of Mom.

You took great care of your family and provided for us all by working your entire career for the El Paso Natural Gas Company. Great example you set for your three sons. Rest In Peace Dad

Sammy was my brother-in-law for 8 years and a dear friend when we lived in El Paso. I know he will be deeply  missed by his family.  My love and sympathy to Colton and Sam and Danny and their families!
