

Shirley Richardson, age 79, of Hurst, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2026.
Shirley was born on September 12, 1946, in Stephenville, Texas, to Lola Mae and Tyra Baker. She dedicated many years of service to HEB ISD as a food service manager and teaching assistant, where she made a lasting impact on students and colleagues alike.
Shirley had a deep love for her family and found great joy in spending time with them. She especially cherished traveling and camping with her husband of 60 years, creating memories that spanned a lifetime and many places around the world. She also had a passion for gospel music and enjoyed playing the piano and singing.
She was an active member of her community, volunteering with the Hurst Senior Center and the Hurst Auxiliary Police Department. Shirley found fulfillment in helping others and was always eager to lend a hand. She also loved attending family reunions and staying connected with her extended family.
Shirley is survived by her son, James; her daughter, Cindy; her grandchildren, Kendall, Clayton, Ashlie, and Alex; and her five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lola Mae and Tyra Baker; her brothers, Cecil, Jerry, and John L.; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.
Shirley was loved, respected, and cherished by all who knew her. Her kindness, warmth, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed.
A service will be held at Bluebonnet Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with a graveside service to follow at 11:30 a.m.
