Stephen was born in Kingston, PA on February 20, 1950 to Joseph Yatsko and Hertha Stocker Yatsko. He attended Dallas Senior High School and graduated in 1968 and was active in track and football. He married Diana T. Kandrac on February 1, 1969 and they welcomed their daughter, Diana Yatsko Vith, in late August that year. In June of 1980, he and his family moved to Texas in search of better job opportunities. He had a passion for carpentry and construction and, after many years of experience and attending the University of Dallas, he decided to start up his own business: Steve's Repair & Remodeling. He was dedicated, enjoyed his work and his successful business, and retired at the age of 58.
In his twenties, Stephen worked for Conrail and the Delaware & Hudson railroads in Pennsylvania. Throughout Stephen's life, his number one passion was model railroading. He was a member of several railroad clubs to include The Lone Star HiRailers, of which he was a board member. Most recently, he volunteered his time at the model railroad display in Grapevine, TX. His second passion was his Maltese, Mercedes. He had a love for dogs and she stole his heart.
Stephen is survived by his wife of 45 years, Diana Kandrac Yatsko, of Irving, TX; his daughter, Diana Vith, of Irving, TX; his brother, Joe Mollahan, of Bonita Springs, FL; his granddaughter, Christina Robertson, of Carrollton, TX; and his granddaughter, Stephanie Bryce, of Allen, TX. He is also survived by five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
