Stuart loved to run as a boy which translated into his being a distance runner for Jasper High School and Abilene Christian University. Later in life he switched to cycling with Colavita and Stages. This gave him meaningful friendships with Stuart Harbottle (Little Stu) and so many more than we could mention. After his racing days he still enjoyed long distance rides for fitness.
Stuart set a goal to climb to the highest point of every state in the U.S. He didn’t climb them all but shared many of those climbs with his good friend, Charles Stovall, being awed by the testimony of nature to God’s power.
Stuart was a faithful Christian navigating the joys and devastations of this world with an unwavering faith. His most recent church home was Legacy Church of Christ where he regularly sang with the praise team. We especially appreciate the Lambreth/Snelson Small Group for their support through prayers, visits, phone calls, food and much more.
Stuart graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree and from Virginia Technological University with a Master’s in Industrial Engineering.
His professional life began in the family business at The Visador Company. Through the years he gained his CPA and focused on helping companies often as CFO to be successful by good financial management. Among those companies were Haag Engineering, Rail Pros Parent, LLC, and David C Cook. In every company he worked for his colleagues soon became dear friends.
A visitation for Stuart will be held at 1:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of his life at 2:00 p.m. at Legacy Church of Christ at 8801 Mid Cities Blvd., North Richland Hills. Burial will follow at Bluebonnet Hill and Memorial Park in Colleyville at 5725 Colleyville Blvd.
