Virginia Pauline Miranda

Virginia Pauline Miranda passed into glory on August 2, 2024 at the age of 85. She is survived by her five children: Virginia “Lynn” Miranda, Harmony Martinez, Robert “Jerry” Miranda, Mary “Teri” Miranda, and Michael Miranda. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Adrian Miranda, and her sisters Gene, Donna, Wanda, Elaine and June.

Virginia was born in Corcoran, California on September 5, 1938, at the height of the Great Depression. Living there throughout her childhood, she graduated from Corcoran High School in 1956. In the same year, she married her husband Robert, a newly minted Air Force officer and pilot. Virginia served as a loving Air Force wife and mother, raising her five children through the throes of the Cuban missile crisis and the Cold War. In these conflicts, her husband’s job ensured he faced frequent, remarkable risk. She remained dedicated, and stalwart, caring for him and her family. As her husband’s unit suffered 50% attrition in the first half of his tour in Vietnam, she, again, endured as a faithful anchor and support at home; enabling him to focus on accomplishing his mission and to return with honor. She courageously faced the many

months of isolation that such a calling demands; nurturing her family from everchanging and far-flung locales like Japan, South Carolina, Germany, California, and Texas. Overcoming the many challenges and fears of her profession, she made every house a home, and served, with humility, her family and the Lord. Since Robert’s passing in 1995 she continued to sow seeds of love and labor. We are blessed to have known her listening ear, giving heart, loving touch, and her effectual prayers. “We’ll see you soon, Mom. Save a seat for us at the Lord’s table.”

A visitation for Virginia will be held Monday, August 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX 76034. A burial will occur Monday, August 12, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX 76034.
